Gunalchéesh to Kyle Worl, Cultural Specialist at Floyd Dryden Middle School, for introducing GimKit to the Haa Ḵusteeyí team. It was time for us to try another game format and GimKit doesnʼt disappoint! Educators will need to purchase the Pro GimKit in order to use audio and images, but the $5/month or $60 annual fee makes it fairly affordable. Kyle gave the Haa Ḵusteeyí team a tutorial as well as practice on some of his Lingít games.

Here is a short video, which gives an overview of GimKit. Gimkit provides two options: Play Live or Assign as Homework. We play the give live as part of our Live Zoom sessions and assign it as homework where no code is needed. The game below is our first Gimkit focuses on the sentence frame: Daasá iyatee? (What Do You See?) and words from the Scavenger Hunt, which you can also find under Extension Activities. Itʼs a great tool to have by your side when playing the game. Give it a try by clicking on the image below :) Have fun!
